Most of the farmers provide housing to the animals during day and night. Animal houses are closed, kutcha and separate from the farmers residance.In forest area, the Maldharis keep their animls in "Nesdas" and is heavily barricated in front to protect the animals from lions and other wild animals. It is a common practics to mix "Chhachh" (Butter Milk) in drinking water to prevent the animals to drink plain water from any other source. Animals are heavy grazers. They are maintained on natural pastures througout the year.

Horn shape and size
Horns exibit wide variation, but usually emerge out by compressing the head, go downward sideways, then upward and inward finally forming a ring like structure. Horn are long.
Visible characteristics
Horn shape is peculiar of this breed. It makes eyes to look small - termed as study eye, especially in males.
